You can call this "the first afternoon tea of the year"...
We went to Colwick Hall Hotel to have afternoon tea.
We opted for the Traditional afternoon tea at £18.95 which included: -
Selection of finger sandwiches
Hand carved ham and wholegrain mustard
Cheddar cheese and tangy tomato chutney
Free range egg mayonnaise and watercress
British roast beef and horseradish
All served on a selection of wholemeal and white bread
Mini quiche
Soup of the day
Selection of cakes and desserts
Fruit scones with classic Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam
Lemon drizzle cake
Summer fruit muffin
Traditional shortbread
Double chocolate brownie
With unlimited tea and filtered coffee, warm scones and the tasty desserts it was one of the best teas I've had (and I've had a fair few).
After our feast, which lasted about 2/3 hours, we wondered around to check out the rest of the hotel.
