Charlesworth Lodge (Day 2)

On this day...

Day 2

The weatherman threatening us with wind and rain so instead of a planned hike we traveled to Speedwell Cavern at Winnats Pass where you take a journey by boat inside an underground cave set in the heart of Peak District National Park half an hour away from our lodge.

On our drive, we passed the most gorgeous green valleys and copious amount of sheep wondering the roads. Sometimes we would be forced to stop because they wouldn't move!

Admission was £11.50 per person.

Once inside, you are given an helmet (for health and safety of course) and then continue the descend down 105 steps to the boat.

After the tour, we came out to discover we got lucky with the weather so we hiked around the surrounding valleys before going to the pub for some food.

We got back to the lodge to spend a few hours in the hot tube before we prepared a cheese board and watched a film to end the evening.
