Bakewell (Derbyshire)

We took a road trip to Bakewell in the Peak District. 

Ironically, I'm not a fan of Bakewell tart but there were other treats to be had.




The Details

Journey time: 1 hour 

Weather: Sunny and warm

Parking: We parked at the station car park. They have two separate sections. One for short stay at a max of 2 hours and one for longer stays. We paid £5 for 4+ hour stay. I personally think that was too long as the area is small and we only stayed there for about 3 hours before moving on.

Facilities: It's a small market town so you will find the usual, plus, seasonal markets throughout the year

Highlight: The duck race

Would I visit again?: Maybe give it a year or 2. Again, the area is small and you are constantly making your way back to the centre. We are going to try to Monsal Trail at one point though.
